The municipality of Kavarna possesses unique nature, which has predetermined its social and economic standing and future development. The municipality encompasses the most eastern part of the Danube plain and is part of Dobrudzha's coastline.
   The relief is flat, to flat-hilly. A great part of the territory (over 75%) is taken by fruitful cultivated lands. The picturesque Kavarna coast is 42 km long. It is slightly uneven and small beaches had been formed. The total area of its beaches amounts to 74,000 sq. m.
   There is plenty of underground waters in the region, especially mineral.
   There are coal and natural gas fields on the territory of the municipality.
   The economic sectors of prior importance for the municipality of Kavarna are agriculture, tourism, light and food industry.
   Production capacities for bottling mineral water (Izvor AD), factory for production and repair works of construction, road, and agricultural machines (Kamash AD), dressmaking and tailoring factories, firms for wood processing and production of upholstered furniture (Kalatserka), as well as for joinery works production (Ivanex), factories for ready-made clothes, etc. expand the economic map of Kavarna.
   The municipality has the resources for development of ecological farming and agriculture. Vine-growing and fruit-growing are also reviving. Industrial cultivation of mussels, and the construction of windmills are also a “patent” for the economy of Kavarna.
   The municipality of Kavarna possesses rich potential and unused resources for the development of sea vacation tourism. There are good conditions for combining vacation with cultural tourism – educational, hunting, rural, and eco tourism. The construction of modern infrastructure and the development of alternative forms of tourism attract investors’ interest in the tourism sector.
   The appropriate use of the region’s natural resources gives possibilities for competitive production, especially in the field of food and beverage industry, which together with the necessity for modernization of the production means is a precondition for the attraction of new partners, creditors, and investors.
