The Department of Education, Youth and Sports was established under this form in January 2004, with Head of Department Desislava Yakimova. The department has at its disposals two specialists: Emilia Nikolova – education affairs, and Ravel STanchev – sports affairs.
   On the territory of Kavarna municipality there are 2 high schools, 3 secondary schools, 2 primary schools, and 1 profiled school. There are 2 attendance units, and 7 all-day nursery schools. The Department works with all of them, as it is responsible for school children’s transport and the medical services in the schools and the nurseries.
   The employees at the Department are working to preserve the educational traditions in the municipality and to combine them with new undertakings and initiatives.
